Sarasota   Florida  Area   Golf   Courses

      Here are some of my favorite Sarasota area golf courses.  Do you know the difference between playing, living on, or being a member of these golf courses?   There are such differences in:

• Location
• Ownership of the course itself
• The number of members (how crowded is it?)
• The cost of joining and belonging.
• Some are public -- in season, about $55+ per person to play
• Some are private -- $2,500 - 15,000 a year -- plus a "cart fee" to play
• Some are private -- from $3,000 to $45,000 to join, + $5,000 or more a year to play
but they have limited memberships and sometimes 36 holes.
